3rd GA Meeting, 8 - 9th April 2018 in Edinburgh
These 2 days are always filled with a lot of science, interesting discussions and direction-setting new ideas. This year we started on Sunday, the 8th April in our Meeting venue, the beautiful Royal Society of Edinburgh. We had a cosy meeting room, which was perfect for discussions or chatting while having a cup of tea and biscuits. The project coordinator, Prof. Dichgans and the local PI, Prof. Joanna Wardlaw welcomed everybody. A very nice tradition in our consortium is to give the younger generation the opportunity to present their work. Every Workpackage - the preclinical and the clinical - must present the status of their work within the project - their successful experiments or recruitments but also state where some difficulties emerged and how they solved them. The first evening we closed the Meeting Day in a local fish restaurant, with a delicious menu. The next day continued with talks of the WPs but also the clinical and pre-clinical working groups met and discussed internal specific topics. The WP-leader met in the Steering Committee to discuss project related organisational topics. Overall it was a day fully packed with constructive discussions, from which everybody will profit for further steps. The Meeting ended with a Joint Working Dinner with participants of the Leducq-meeting in a wonderful surrounding of the Royal College of Physicians - a successful closing of this year's General Assembly Meeting in Edinburgh.
